Artist Statement

What is the one thing that inspires my work more than any other?  Nature.  She has opened her doors to an exquisite world for me, offering me an endless supply of unexpected shapes and colors, the shapes I recreate with metal and the colors in enamel.  I weave the pale colors of early spring into my creations.  The colors evoke for me rebirth and hope and the promise of renewed life after dormancy. 

Autumn sets me on fire – enticing me to create pieces with some of my most beloved vibrant yellows, reds, and oranges.  I also find the same peace while enameling that I find in nature.  I hope once my project is completed, I can pass that peacefulness as well as happiness on to others through my work, into which I have poured my heart.  I hope that the shapes and colors that they witness in my work will give them for years and generations to come the wide spectrum of feelings and emotion captured only in nature.
